We invite applications from properties that demonstrate meaningful action in the areas below. While not every item is mandatory, alignment with the majority is encouraged.

Operational Practices:

• Refillable guest amenities (soaps, shampoos, etc.)

• Bulk cleaning products or non-toxic alternatives

• Waste separation (recycling, compost, soft plastic collection)

• Energy-efficient appliances and/or solar integration

Plastic & Waste Reduction

• Elimination of single-use plastics (especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and welcome packs)

• Composting of food and organic waste

• Reusable or compostable packaging for guest items

• Onsite plastic-free mini bar, kitchen, or welcome gifts

• Optional plastic removal contribution for guests

Local & Ethical Sourcing

• Use of locally made, grown, or sourced products (furniture, produce, art, etc.)

• Partnerships with regional artisans, distillers, bakers, and producers

• Seasonal, low-waste food options if meals are provided

• Use of organic or natural fibres in linens, robes, etc.

Guest Experience & Education

• In-room or digital low-impact guest guides

• Walking/bike trail maps and car-free activity suggestions

• Promotion of nearby ocean-friendly, plastic-free, or circular economy businesses

• Opportunities for guests to support local causes, cleanups, or social impact initiatives

• Clear communication about sustainability efforts (without greenwashing)

Design & Materials

• Natural or reclaimed materials in interiors and fit-out

• Low- VOC paints, natural finishes, or healthy building standards

• Biophilic design or nature-integrated elements

• Low-light or wildlife-friendly outdoor lighting
